Chinese New Year

Something that I think I always took for granted. I was always irritated that my mom would ask me to wear something more festive, or clean my room right for Chinese New Year. I saw it as any other day - and didn't really recognize the significance of it since I celebrate new years on Jan 1st. But every single year, I've always spent it with my immediate family every for the past 22 years of my life. This year it's different. I have no family in LA and it feels kind of weird. It still feels like any other day, but there's definitely no one nagging me to make this day more special. I kind of miss that nagging. :(

If you want to know where to find me on Chinese New Years eve, I will be trying to locate the nearest hot pot place on the west side LA eating hot pot by myself. If you understand what hot pot is, you will find that super depressing because hot pot is not meant to be eaten alone. Either that or I'll be stuck at work...
